Web representation of water chemistry data and hydrological features with Qgis2Web and Github

As for the myth of Icarus who wanted to fly close to the sun, sometimes normal Qgis users want to fly close to the web however our “wings” are unknown. Qgis2Web is a robust Qgis plugin that is 8 years old, has more than 177 releases and allows a normal Qgis user to fly to the web with minimal knowledge of html, javascript or other web standards.  Hosting websites and specially spatial websites without restrictions and end of trial periods is also a challenge. Github has an option to upload and host a website just with your own account. This webinar covers the whole procedure to develop and host a spatial website that represents a dataset of water chemistry parameters and hydrological features with different options for layer representation, menus, scales and popups.

Instructor / Instructor:

Saul Montoya M.Sc

Hydrogeologist - Numerical Modeler

Mr. Montoya is a Civil Engineer graduated from the Catholic University in Lima with postgraduate studies in Management and Engineering of Water Resources (WAREM Program) from Stuttgart University – Germany with mention in Groundwater Engineering and Hydroinformatics. Mr Montoya has a strong analytical capacity for the interpretation, conceptualization and modeling of the surface and underground water cycle and their interaction. He is in charge of numerical modeling for contaminant transport and remediation systems of contaminated sites. Inside his hydrological and hydrogeological investigations Mr. Montoya has developed an holistic comprehension of the water cycle, understanding and quantifying the main hydrological dynamic process of precipitation, runoff, evaporation and recharge to the groundwater system.
